4 Questions to Ask Before Your Facelift Procedure

Last updated 7 months ago

A facelift can be a wonderful option for you if you are looking to enhance your appearance. Before you undergo facelift surgery, however, you should understand your procedure. Here are four questions you should ask your cosmetic surgeon prior to surgery:

  • What are your credentials, and how much experience do you have?

You’ll want to be sure that your cosmetic surgeon has the skills, qualifications, and experience needed to produce the best results possible. This will not only give you peace of mind, but also ensure that you achieve the results that you want.

  • What can I expect from the procedure?

A skilled cosmetic surgeon will be able to produce exceptional results, but even with skill, there are limitations as to what a facelift can do. It is vital that you understand those limitations and have reasonable expectations for after your surgery. Your cosmetic surgeon can show you pictures and computer imaging to help you set your expectations.

  • What can I expect during recovery?

A facelift procedure will require a period of recovery. You’ll need to know how to take care of your bandaging and care for your incision sites. It will also be crucial that you take any medications that may be prescribed to you. Preparing for this time before surgery will make your recovery much smoother.

  • Will my facelift be permanent?

There is no permanent solution to combat aging, but facelift surgery does last much longer than non-surgical options. Ask your cosmetic surgeon how long you can reasonably expect the surgery to last before you might need a touch-up.
